Course Length and Overview:

Taking place over 4-years, this nationally recognised course is broken into two sections:

1. Certificate III in Automotive Sales (Parts Traineeship)
2. McIntosh Milestone Program

The certificate includes 20 units of competency clustered into 10 x one-week blocks, with students completing five blocks per year, throughout the duration of the 2-year certificate.

Students are expected to perform a variety of tasks involving established routines, processes, and procedures with a strong focus on assessing and improving the quality and effectiveness of their outcomes.

Throughout the certificate, students have access and work closely with sales and parts departments within the McIntosh & Son machinery dealership network.

What is the McIntosh Milestone Program?

The McIntosh Milestone Program is a structured and measured system to ensure each student receives real-life experience and exposure to brands, dealership departments and machinery throughout all stages of their learning.

The Milestone program allows students to deepen their knowledge with mentorship from experts. Through the custom-designed program, students gain exclusive experiences such as product specific training, workshops with industry professionals and brands, along with customer and farm visits.

The McIntosh Milestone Program makes use of in-house department managers and manufacturer training facilities to ensure students graduate with confidence and have comprehensive exposure to all aspects of their future careers.

Career Possibilities:

The course provides entry level education for Parts Interpreting, or the opportunity to upskill across Parts, Sales, Service and Administration roles.

This can lead into careers such as Parts Interpreters, Service Advisors, Salespersons, and administrative roles including Data Entry Clerks and Office Assistant/Managers.

Further Education Pathways:

After completion, advanced certificates are a great way to gain more experience or further qualifications to expand your skill set. Certificates available across nationally recognised training facilities include:

• Certificate IV in Sales or Service Management
• Certificate IV in Parts of Warehouse Management
• Retail Executive
• Regional Management
